BTS tops the chart with $188.5 million from over 3 million tickets sold in 7 in-person and virtual concerts. The overall number is including $76.7 million from 1.33 million tickets sold with the “MUSTER SOWOOZOO” virtual show and another $111.9 million from 1.728 million tickets sold as part of the “Permission to Dance on Stage” concert series.

The “Permission to Dance on Stage” overall number is including $50.3 million in a virtual concert performed in October, a record-breaking $33.3 million in 4 shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, $27.1 million with the livestream of the last show on December 2 and another $1.1 million with the livestreams held at the Youtube Theatre in Inglewood.

The group was expected to top the 2020 Year-End charts with $215-220 million as part of the “Map of the Soul Tour”. After the cancellation, they earned $65.5 million in 3 virtual shows played in that year. BTS has now extended their record as the most successful acts of the 2020s decade with $316.5 million from 5.873 million tickets sold (as of March 2022).

The Rolling Stones (No. 2) earned $130.9 million from 578,000 tickets sold in 14 shows — $9.35 million revenue in average per night. It brings a total of $546.5 million from 2.869 million tickets sold in 58 shows in North America and Europe between 2017 and 2021 as part of the “No Filter Tour”. It’s the fifth highest-grossing concert tour in history.

Harry Styles (No. 3) is the most successful solo artist on the chart with $94.7 million from 719,000 tickets sold in 42 shows as part of the “Love on Tour” — $2.255 million revenue in average per night. All concerts were performed in the US, making it the second highest-grossing tour of the year in the country, behind The Rolling Stones.

Grupo Firme (No. 4) is the most successful latin act on the chart with $75.2 million from over 745,000 tickets sold in 73 shows as part of the “Nos Divertimos Logrando Lo Imposible” — $1.030 million revenue in average per night. All shows were performed in the US, making it the highest-grossing concert tour by a non-english language act in the country.

Genesis (No. 5) closes the top 5 with $70.2 million from over 364,000 tickets sold in 33 shows as part of the “The Last Domino? Tour”. The band earned $18.2 million in 12 shows in Europe between September and October and another $52 million in 21 shows in North America. The tour was the highest-grossing concert in the European continent in 2021.

From BTS to Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the top ten earned $872.1 million from 8.318 million tickets sold in 341 shows combined, up 136.85% in revenue and 197.18% in ticket sales compared to 2020. And the entire 2021 Year-End charts earned $2.124 billion from 22.352 million tickets sold in 1,404 shows.

No Filter Tour was the top stadium-tour of 2021. The tour peaked in Las Vegas, with the November 6 performance at Allegiant Stadium earning $14.8 million from 42,600 tickets, making it the second highest-grossing concert in history. Stones extended their record as most successful touring acts of all-time with $2.866 billion from over 42 million tickets sold.

Love On Tour was the top arena-tour of 2021. The highest-grossing boxscore was performed at the Madison Square Garden in New York City with $13.814 million in 5 shows on October 3-31, making $2.763 million revenue and 18,743 tickets sold per night. It was the top arena-boxscore report of 2021.

The tour peaked at UBS Arena in Belmont Park on November 28 with massive $3.273 million from 16,777 tickets sold. Styles held the venue’s first public concert. On November 7, Harry played the most-attended concert of his career with 21,469 tickets sold at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma.

Live at MGM Resorts was the top theater-tour of 2021. Bruno earned $25.9 million at the Park Theatre in Las Vegas and another $6.6 million at The Theater in Oxon Hill. The highest-grossing concerts of the residency in 2021 were performed on December 30-31 with $1.913 million each night at the Park Theatre in Las Vegas.

Muster Sowoozoo was the top virtual concert of 2021. On June 12-13, BTS performed two online shows livestreamed via Weverse and earned titanic $76.7 million from 1.33 million paid viewers. It became the highest-grossing virtual concert in history, breaking their own record set in 2020 with the “Map of the Soul On:e”.

From November 27 to December 2, BTS played their first in-person shows since 2019 with 4 nights at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood and earned the second highest-grossing boxscore in history in the US. These shows had a total of 213,752 tickets sold and the last two nights were the highest-grossing concerts of their career with $8.408 million each.
