Bad Bunny was the #1 touring act of 2022 with $435.2 million from 2.477 million tickets sold in 81 shows, surpassing Ed Sheeran‘s $432.4 million in 2018 as the highest yearly gross in history. The total is including $116.8 million with the El Último Tour Del Mundo, another $314.5 million with the World’s Hottest Tour and $3.9 million with the Un Verano Sin Ti special concerts.

Benito peaked in Inglewood, with the Oct. 1 performance at SoFi Stadium earning $15.754 million from 51,300 tickets. It’s the second highest-grossing concert of all-time, after George Strait at AT&T Stadium in Arlington (2014). The 21-date US tour earned $11.069 million in average per night, surpassing No Filter by The Rolling Stones ($10.290 million).

The Latin American dates earned $85.9 million from 958,000 tickets in 25 shows, making 19.75% of the total revenue. The 4 Mexican shows earned $27.8 million, including the highest-grossing concert in the country’s history with $8.849 million at Estadio BBVA in Monterrey on Dec. 4 and the most-attended concert of his career with 62,200 tickets sold at Estadio Azteca on Dec. 10.

Elton John (No. 2) earned $391.6 million from 2.422 million tickets sold in 92 shows as part of the Farewell: Yellow Brick Road, bringing $4.256 million and 26,322 tickets in average per concert. Elton earned the highest-grossing concert of his career on Nov. 9 with $8.842 million at Petco Park in San Diego.

On Nov. 12, the tour reached $777 million after the third concert at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and surpassed Divide by Ed Sheeran as the highest-grossing tour in history. The Farewell: Yellow Brick Road has earned $828 million in its first 283 shows as of Mar. 31 performance at SSE Arena in Belfast.

Coldplay (No. 3) earned $342.3 million from 3.803 million tickets sold in 64 shows as part of the Music of the Spheres, bringing $5.348 million and 59,419 tickets in average per concert. The total revenue includes $146.4 million in Europe, $127.9 million in Latin America and $68 million in North America. They were the highest-grossing band and the most-attended touring artists of the year.

Ed Sheeran (No. 4) earned $247.1 million from 3.046 million tickets sold in 62 shows — 52 as part of the Mathematics and 10 theater-dates played before the tour. All numbers came from Europe, making it the highest-grossing tour of the year in the continent. Sheeran is the only soloist to sell over 3 million tickets in a single calendar-year since himself in 2018.

Harry Styles (No. 5) earned $244.1 million from 1.901 million tickets sold in 78 shows as part of the Love On Tour, bringing $3.128 million and 24,371 tickets in average per concert. The total revenue includes $147.7 million in North America, $55.9 million in Europe and another $40.4 million in Latin America. Styles earned the highest-grossing report of the year with $63.1 million in 15 shows at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Billie Eilish (No. 14) was the highest-grossing female act of 2022 with $126.4 million from 1.090 million tickets sold in 77 shows as part of the Happier than Ever, including $63.3 million in North America, $26.8 million in Europe, $22.3 million in Oceania and another $13.9 million in Asia.

BTS (No. 17) was the highest-grossing vocal group of 2022 with $118.3 million from 1.688 million tickets sold in 7 shows as part of the Permission to Dance on Stage, including $35.9 million in Las Vegas, $5.9 million in Seoul and $76.5 million in livestreams.

The entire top 50 highest-grossing artists of 2022 earned a total of $6.122 billion from 54.506 million tickets sold in 2,514 shows, up 188.23% in revenue and 143.85% in tickets sold from the 2021 Year End charts.
